Truist Park was aimed southeast on purpose. Most ballparks point somewhere between north and east, which puts afternoon shade on the third-base side, but the Braves' home in Atlanta runs home plate to center field on a southeast bearing, and that flips the usual advice. Here the sun rises out beyond left field, tracks past the right-field foul pole around midday, and sets behind home plate. The practical upshot: the first-base side shades first, while the third-base and left-field seats keep their sun longer than anywhere else in the park.
