Despite the name, the Stadium of Light takes its title from Sunderland's mining heritage, not the weather, which is fitting, because the northeast coast delivers some of the gentlest summer conditions in this guide. July afternoons here top out around 68°F, the coolest of any ground we have modeled in this batch, and the sea air keeps even a midday match from feeling punishing. The sun still finds the lower bowl, though, and the numbers say it is worth choosing your tier with intent.

Where the sun lands at kickoff
