Sun at Pompano Beach Amphitheater follows a predictable summer script, a low western glare early, then shade as the light drops. Our model puts the whole 7 PM show at about 78 percent shade, so most of the house comes out well; the question is how much of the early set you want to spend squinting.

Best bets and sunniest seats

The pit and covered pavilion do the heavy lifting. Pit 3 reads near 94 percent shaded across the event, and pavilion sections 109, 110, 111, 210 and 211 all land around 88 percent. Those seats barely notice the sun.

The open lawn takes the most light. Lawn 5, 3 and 4 sit around 63 to 67 percent shade, and pavilion 204 is similar. It is still a decent number for open ground, but plan for direct sun in the first hour if that is your ticket.

Timing the light in Pompano Beach

In high summer the sun sets around 8:15 PM here, so a 7 PM show starts in daylight. At that hour the sun is low, roughly 14 to 15 degrees up, bearing west-northwest, the classic in-your-eyes angle rather than overhead heat. That early glare is why the from-6 PM shade figure, near 53 percent, runs below the event average.

As the evening moves on the sun sinks off the seats and, once it sets, the whole amphitheater is in shade. The later the show runs, the easier it gets. Given the Pompano Beach heat and humidity, bring water and sun cover for the opening regardless of section.
