Keesler Federal Park, the 5,000-seat home of the Biloxi Shuckers, Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, is an open-air park, and in July the sun is the third team on the field. A first pitch between 6:35 and 7:05 means the sun is already on its way out. By 7 PM it sits just 10 degrees above the horizon in the west-northwest, barely above the treeline, throwing long shadows across the whole park. Whatever side of Keesler Federal Park catches that last light gets it briefly and at a shallow angle, and within an hour of first pitch the sun is gone entirely.
